New Brand Coming Soon…
We are excited to share that Kelowna Trauma Therapy is in the midst of a brand change over the coming months. This will not impact the services we currently offer.
A`-dyoo-lum: A sanctuary of safety, hope, and refuge; justice for the people.
At Adullam Trauma Therapy and Healing Centre, we recognize that healing is a deeply personal journey. We meet individuals where they are, offering a diverse range of healing options: individual counselling, group therapy, learning circles, walk-and-talk therapy, psychedelic-assisted therapy, and more. Our community is dedicated to fostering human connection, growth, and lifelong learning.
We believe in the vast innate power, wisdom and wholeness within each of us, and that we all yearn to connect with ourselves, each other, and the Earth. Come to our sanctuary—everyone is welcome here.
Therapies We Offer
-
EMDR Therapy
Short for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming, EMDR is a highly effective tool that can deliver fast, effective, and long-lasting results.
Unlike other therapies that focus directly on altering emotions, EMDR focuses directly on the memory, and helps change the WAY the memory is stored in your brain.
-
Neurofeedback Therapy
Neurofeedback is a non-talk-therapy that targets neurobiological processes that may have become out-of-allignment due to trauma and it’s subsequent coping mechanisms.
By helping your brain to reset and find it’s natural equilibrium, it serves as a wonderful support to other emotional or memory focused therapies.
-
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing (SE) starts with the understanding that we are WHOLE beings and trauma affects every part of us, including our bodies, where it can be stored for processing when it’s safe to do so.
As a body-first therapy, the goal of SE is to bring attention to your body’s physical experience, and ultimately release the trauma stored in your body.
-
Walk and Talk Therapy
Have you ever noticed that you think more clearly, have more mental energy, and are more creative when you are walking?
That’s bilateral stimulation at work, and is one of your body’s built-in tools for helping to solve complex issues.
Combined with talk therapy, it’s a surprisingly simple and effective tool for resolving trauma.
-
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is based on the observation that we all have “parts” or “sub-personalities” within us.
Rather than being a sign of mental illness, it is actually the natural state of our minds.
When we recognize and approach those parts with compassion and curiosity, we can help to bring healing to parts that were previously inaccessible.
-
CBT & DBT
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a therapeutic approach that helps give an understanding of the interactions between the person, their environment, their thoughts, feelings and their actions.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) looks at developing four key skills for processing intense emotions which are: mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance.

You Deserve to Have Your Life Back
If you’re like many of our clients, you’ve experienced trauma in your life (maybe recently, or maybe way back when you were a child) and you’ve reached a point where you know you need to do something about it.
Perhaps you’ve tried other types of therapy, medication, meditation, “self-care”, and yet nothing seems to be working.
Perhaps you feel hopeless about your life, agitated, sleepless, depressed, anxious, or even suicidal.
Maybe you always feel like you have to look over your shoulder, even if you don’t know why.
Regardless of exactly how you experience the effects of trauma in your life, one thing is clear: you deserve to have your life back.
You deserve to be free from anxiety and depression.
You deserve to have hope. You deserve to be at rest.
And yet, when you look at trauma therapies, how do you know which ones are right for you?
Choosing a therapy that is actually right for you, at this moment, with your own unique symptoms and challenges, is like trying to shoot an arrow in the dark. You might find the one that’s right for you, but you’re even more likely to spend a bunch of time and money without getting the results that you want and deserve.
Our Approach
That’s where we come in. Based on our experience and all available evidence, we know that you already have the internal resources that you need to heal from trauma. Our job is to help you find your way to that healing, using proven therapeutic methods.
We use a combination of EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Walk and Talk, and Neurofeedback, and tailor your treatment plan uniquely to you and your specific needs.
We are not generalists; we focus specifically on helping to heal trauma, whether “big” or “small.”
Your Healing Process
-
Step 1: Schedule a Consultation
Meet with our Clinical Coordinator or one of our therapists for a free initial consultation. We’ll take some time to hear your goals to see if there is a fit with the therapies we offer, as well as to answer any questions you may have.
-
Step 2: Schedule an Assessment
If it’s clear that our skillset and process is a good fit for you, we’ll schedule you for an assessment with a therapist that knows our different treatments intimately. Based on that assessment, we’ll recommend a treatment plan that suits your schedule, budget, and healing priorities.
-
Step 3: Step Into Your Healing
Healing from Trauma isn’t EASY, but it’s worth it. More importantly, YOU’RE worth it. After we’ve established if our treatments are suitable for you, and come up with a plan with you, we’ll begin to implement it with you. And, we’ll check in routinely

What Clients Are Saying
“We started with our therapist in 2021 and I wanted to write a review on our experience with her care. She has been an integral part of my family’s healing and remains a continued support for us. We have all found her to be very relatable, insightful on guidance and always giving effective tools to move forward between sessions. Her work and approach with my girls have been the best we have results from many previous attempts in the past. Thank you for all your support.
— K.T.
I consider myself blessed to have met Tamara at KTT. Having suffered years with PTSD & Depression/Anxiety she is easily the best person I have ever seen, & I've seen ALOT! Sadly there are alot of counsellors who take up your session attempting to show the client their knowledge base, and "Impress" them with their years of schooling. My therapist does the exact opposite, she listens, and then listens even more! Her insight when it does come is direct and empathetic and always centered to what your dealing with. But mostly what she has is heart, & tons of it for her clients. A true gem of a human being who is in the perfect profession to help people struggling with life.
— J.L.
“When I first sought counselling, I was sure I was thoroughly broken beyond repair. My therapist helped me see that not only was I capable of healing, I was also WORTHY of it. Now I know that the things that happened to me don’t change my worth, and that I can use my wisdom and experience to make the best out of the life I’ve been given. Thank you Tamara for bringing out the best in me!”
